- Designer Special information The Chittick Home was among the first in the region to concentrate on resource efficiency through the use of green building products and techniques. The home was described in regional newspapers and a
trade magazine. As a Super Good Cents Home , the homeowner received the highest rebate possible at the time of the home's completion for its energy efficiency.
Bruce Millard, architect of the project, used the home to show future clients and the general public new healthy methods of construction. Bruce has also used the home to promote sustainable design and construction to architectural schools, green building conferences, and workshops to influence local and regional construction. As a result of such outreach, and the performance of the Chittick Home and other residences, such healthy, sustainable building methods are now 'standard' in many residential buildings in the area.
