Special information

This two-unit building was constructed as an affordable, low energy and low maintenance home through a program of the Madison Area Community Land Trust (MACLT). MACLT acquires land and sells houses, but not the land beneath, to low and moderate income first-time homebuyers. Homebuyers agree to limit the resale value of the house through a prescribed formula, passing along the affordability to the next buyers.

This duplex was designed specifically for persons with disabilities who require barrier-free access to their homes. Visit the Universal Design section under "Features" for more information on barrier-free access.

The duplex has received the Green Built Home certification, which ensures that it is healthier, safer, more comfortable and more durable than a typical new home. Long-term energy and maintenance costs have been reduced through the use of green building practices and materials.
